Who are the fallen heroes? [Local and British Warriors]

 

BRITISH SOLDIERS

1.    Albert Ball

-          An English fighter pilot with 44 victories and remained its fourth-highest scorer.


2.      Abraham Acton

-          English recipient who was in The Border Regiment unit, and the Victoria Cross, the most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy.

 


3.    Sir Winston Churchill

-          He was a British statesman, army officer, and writer. He was also the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom when he led the country to victory in the Second World War.



4.      Sir William Robertson, Ist Baronet

-          He was a British Army officer who served as Chief of the Imperial General Staff (CIGS) – the professional head of the British Army.



 5.                                                          5. Harold Ackroyd

        -        He was a British physician, scientific researcher, army officer and a recipient of the Victoria Cross. He was also an officer with the Royal Army Medical Corps during the First World War.

6. Adnan Saidi

He was a Malayan military officer of the 1st Infantry Brigade who fought the Japanese at the Battle of Pasir Panjang in Singapore during World War II. He is considered a national hero in Singapore and Malaysia for his actions during the battle.



7. Tok Janggut

(Haji Hassan bin Panglima Mat Munas)

He was a Malay warrior in Kelantan, Malaysia during the Kelantan rebellion.




8. Sir Henry Gurney

He was assassinated by communist insurgents during the Malayan Emergency, while serving as high commissioner in the Federation of Malaya.
