The Fallen Tree by Nurul Azrin

once, there grew a strong, tall tree-

surrounded by the shades of army green leaves,

its roots were wild and free- slithering the earth

unknown to the storm that was coming for her

not long arrived the enraged storm

along with its deafening, blaring howl of bombs

as sword of lightnings tore down the sky of peace-

it struck the old, tall tree dead into bits

there it was- the sword of death itself

that had shaken the leaves down to the pits of hell

the ground was on fire, chaotic arose

and down goes the fallen heroes.

ANALYSIS:

- The poem is representing the tree as the country that is surrounded by green leaves around it which is the soldiers that help and sacrifice themselves in order to protect the country from enemy attacks.

- The the poem also includes that the lightning had struck the old, tall tree until it is dead into bits which brings the meaning after the war had happened, it affects the country’s soldiers and as a result, they ought to fall and fail to survive.

- In other words, the attacks from the enemies had caused the soldiers to fall while trying to protect their country from all kinds of threat that put the country in a dangerous situation.

- Then in conclusion, down goes the fallen heroes that had sacrificed themselves in order to make sure their beloved country is in a safe and harmony situation forever.
